Artisanal jewelry handcrafted in Asheville, North Carolina

About Throughline Design

I'm Kristin Erhard, the designer and maker behind Throughline Design. Every piece is handcrafted in my studio in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville, North Carolina.

I've been making jewelry for as long as I can remember. As a child, I loved creating pieces for friends and family. Later, I worked in ceramic sculpture and encaustic painting, experiences that continue to influence my approach to shape, texture, and materials.

I create small-batch jewelry using brass, vintage English metals, quartz, pearl, and other carefully chosen materials. I'm drawn to texture, patina, and pieces that feel thoughtfully collected over time—jewelry that's easy to wear and made to last.
The name Throughline reflects what ties all of my work together: a love of the creative process, from the first idea to the finished piece. Many of my designs are inspired by the leaves and ridgelines of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Time spent living in Denmark also shaped my appreciation for Scandinavian design: keep it simple, make it beautiful, and don't overdo it.
