Our Story

 

Throughline Design was founded in 2021 by Kristin Erhard, a maker with a background in ceramics and a lifelong love of design. Working out of her studio in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville, NC, Kristin began creating earrings as a way to step away from screen-based work and reconnect with the joy of making by hand.

The “throughline” in every piece is enjoying the creative process from start to finish. Inspired by Scandinavian simplicity and natural form, the result is jewelry that is bold yet timeless, functional yet artful.

Each pair is handcrafted in small batches using high-quality, nickel and lead-free raw brass and components that are sourced from other independent makers and businesses. That means every purchase supports not just Throughline Design, but also a wider network of small businesses and entrepreneurs.
